In Denver, October 11, 2012, we were shopping in Cherry Creek and ended up finding the rings that would prompt us to get married. We had things to accomplish at Cherry Creek, with Restoration Hardware being our first stop. Walking out into the mall from Restoration Hardware, if you were texting and not looking, you would end up inside a beautiful Tiffany Store. When we saw Tiffany, though, Rob told Ralph that it would be a really good time to take a first look at trying on some rings for size.
The first style of ring we tried on is the one that we are wearing today. It is simple, timeless and classic. A gold band, with a band of titanium mounted in a layer above the gold band. During our time at Tiffany & Co, we worked with Nichole to document the right style names, sizes, widths, options for various types of gold we could choose, etc. While scribbling those details onto a notepad, Ralph looked up and asked Rob "can you think of any reason for us not to buy these rings today"? Of course, there was no objection from Rob, and instead of *planning* a ring purchase, they *MADE* a ring purchase!
Of course, we could not leave the rings in Denver to be engraved, because we had not yet set the date for the wedding. But bringing the the rings home to put them in the safe until we get the chance to take the trip and get married certainly didn't sound like it would be much fun at all -- unless it happened soon!
So a few days later we decided to be married in Northampton, Mass on December 1, 2012, with Ralph's nephew Mike Busa officiating. We got lucky with only having 5-6 weeks from decision to vows, so we did not have too much time to over-think our plans to be married on December 1st!
