Lucky 13 Wedding Party for R&R at Lulu's in Santa Fe
Our dear friend Lulu in Santa Fe was unable to come to Massachusetts with us for the ceremony, but she was there in her heart. Her NEW heart (at least almost new after a major repair). In the middle of having a heart attack, she looked at me in ER and said "Honey ... when you get back from your wedding, and before Chinese New Year, we will make a big wedding party for you at the restaurant. I told her to lay down and finish having the heart attack, and that we would talk about it when she is better. We got married, and Lulu got better, and here are the plans for our Wedding Party at Lulu's:
* * Lulu's Cinese Cuisine **
* * Tuesday, January 29th at 6:00pm **

At our wedding party at Lulu's, our Albuquerque friends met our Santa Fe friends, and our Horse Friends from Albuquerque, and a good time was had by all. It was like our experience in Northampton where friends and loved ones from many avenues of our lives came together and became family. They have kept in touch with one another, and bonds were formed that will last a lifetime.
There were 48 guests who came to celebrate with us at Lulu's. Every detail was perfect. Penny and Lorraine decorated the room, and Lulu personally planned the menu. It was a totally authentic Chinese wedding celebration dinner, including "a whole fish that looks like a fish" to bring the wealth of the seas to our life together, and "a long noodle for a long life".
As the guests arrived and started getting to know each other, the large monitors on either side of the room showed a slide show of the wedding in Northampton. It was nice for our friends here to get to see the pictures all at one time (hahahha ... instead of us boring each person individually and making them look at all 500 pictures). It was a very nice time of us describing who and what and where from the pictures, and that is how our Santa Fe celebration started.
Then the servers brought out a beautiful plate of food for each of the tables. The room went quiet, and guests quickly became more interested in the food than in the pictures. But no one was prepared for the steady stream of incredible dishes that came out one by one, with so many courses that we lost count. Each one was specially chosen, and each was significant as a symbol of good health, good luck, long life, and the love of family. It was as beautiful as it was delicious.
My only regret from the evening is that it moved way too quickly. As the guests arrived and as the food was served, there was not a lot of time for pictures!
